The aim of this course is to provide the student with the confidence, knowledge and necessary legal documentation required to operate a marine VHF/ DSC radio.

From January 2014 the RYA (SRC) VHF course is changing to fall in line with European legislation. The course course will still be available in our classroom, but we will need to supply you with the RYA VHF Handbook before the course as you will need to do around 3 hours of pre course study. At the end of the day, there will be a one hour assessment consisting of practical radio work and a short written paper.

Diesel Engine maintenance course in Gibraltar with ROCK

The aim of this course is to give the student the ability to take simple measures to prevent mechanical breakdown of a marine diesel engine at sea and rectify defects which do not require workshop support.

A large portion of this course takes place onboard one of our Jeanneau Sunfast 37′ yachts, giving you the opportunity to experience the reality of working on an engine in a confined space.

RYA basic sea survival sailing courses in Gibraltar and Spain with ROCK

To give persons who go to sea, in small commercial motor or sailing vessels, the basic knowledge and practical experience of personal survival principles and techniques.

The aim of either course is to provide the student with a working knowledge of how to apply first aid at sea.

Ability after course Upon successful completion you will have knowledge of the Principles of First Aid, Assessment & Immediate Actions,Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Basic first aid treatment when at sea. The certificate is valid for three years, after which an update is required.

RYA introduction to radar course in Gibraltar and Spain with ROCK

Learn how to use radar effectively for both navigation and collision avoidance. The course covers basic radar principles, navigation by radar, radar reflectors and transponders and appreciation of MARPA.
